Since the outbreak of coronavirus, the confirmed cases are still increasing in vast numbers. However, what makes it so threatening is that most of the patients are found having asymptomatic infections.

According to the survey conducted by World Health Organisation (WHO), about 80% of patients are categorised as mild or asymptomatic cases, and only 15% are classified as severe cases.

Have you heard of “happy hypoxia”?

Coronavirus can lead to lung infections resulting in low blood oxygen. In normal circumstances, we might feel lethargic, shortness of breath and panting for breath when blood oxygen level is lower than normal.

“Happy hypoxia” or “silent hypoxia” is a state where hypoxia does not coincide with shortness of breath. This may reduce the chances of getting proper medical care in time.

What should we do in order to prevent this?

Pulse Oximeters

It is recommended to use pulse oximeters to estimate the oxygen saturation in the blood. A normal oxygen saturation (SpO2) should be 95% and above. If it is below 95%, you may have hypoxemia and need to seek medical help as soon as possible.

Besides that, here’s another warm reminder from PhytoFairy: healthy diets are very important for our immunity! Also, healthy eating habits may help lower the risks of obesity, heart diseases, diabetes and other health problems.

1. A glass of milk every day and night

We can drink a glass of milk every morning and night or if you are not a fan of milk, you may replace it with cheese or sugar-free yogurt. The combinations of Imu-Max Colostrum and Phyto Greens are great too!

Individuals with lactose intolerance may also choose PhytoNutri to replace milk and other dairy products. PhytoNutri contains 21 types of natural beans and whole grains, it is a healthy high-protein plant-based beverage.

2. Two fist-sized of fruits everyday

One portion of fruit is equivalent to a fist-sized. We should have at least two fistfuls of fruits in a day.

3. Take more vegetables than fruits

We should have more vegetables than fruits in our daily diet, especially dark green leafy vegetables. Also, do not forget to increase the variety, taking vegetables in different colours such as red, orange and yellow.

Besides taking fruits and vegetables, Phyto Chlorophyll is added with Chlorella where it not only helps to replenish our chlorophyll intake, but it may also help to strengthen our body.

4. Rice portion equals to vegetables intake

It is recommended to consume whole grains as much as the intake portion of vegetables.

5. Palm-sized portions of beans, fish, eggs and meats

Always opt for quality protein for our meal. The first choice of quality protein is beans for instance, tofu then followed by fish, eggs and meats. We should also avoid eating processed meats, such as bacon.

6. A teaspoon of nuts and seeds

We must have a portion of nuts and seeds every day. Normally a portion of nuts is equal to 3 teaspoons or 1 tablespoon (about 5 almonds / 10 peanuts / 5 cashew nuts).
