In this festive month, the Christmas vibe is filling up the town. Upon seeing the jolly decoration, we have come to realize this year has almost come to an end. New year is just around the corner and we will soon celebrate Chinese New Year too. Are you ready to welcome another year?

As usual, we would enjoy food and drinks with our friends and family in this festive season. However, alcohol has long been perceived as harmful to our body. For example, it might cause alcoholic fatty liver, cancer, cardiovascular diseases, as well as deteriorating the function of our cranial nerve and more. But, do you know the calories in alcohol are also very high?

1 gram (1 ml) of alcohol may produce 7 kcal of calories that is 0.789 g/ml of alcohol density. So, we may calculate the calories of alcohol by using the following formula:

alcohol amount x alcohol content by volume x alcohol density x 7

Supposing we are drinking 350 ml of beer, and there is 3.8% alcohol by volume, we may figure:

350 x 3.8% x 0.789 x 7 = 73.46 kcal

Therefore, whenever we drink a beer, we may approximately consume 73.46 kcal of calories, which means we are required to jog 6 to 16 minutes to burn the calories. However, we need to keep in mind that some flavored wines may be added with tons of sugar in the process of making, so the calories will become much higher! Eventually, we need to spend more time doing exercises to burn the calories.

Alcohol may not be a healthy drink, but it may help brighten up the festive atmosphere. It does not hurt to have a few sips; however, it is never okay to drink excessively! Undeniably, alcohol is harmful to our body, especially our liver.

PhytoFairy recommends the consumption of PhytoLiv to maintain the liver health. More importantly, make sure no driving after drinking! Greetings to everyone and we wish you the best in the new year!
